Black Austin Matters
There are so many ways in which we need to be better as a country – but it starts in our local communities.
First, and most importantly, VOTE for the change you want. Killer Mike said it best… you need to, “exercise your political bully power… go to local elections and beat up the politicians you don’t like.” Educate yourselves on the public officials who are fighting for change and vote them into positions of power. Support local black creators and black owned businesses. Donate to local organizations that make black communities stronger. Make sure black voices are heard by signing petitions and contacting representatives. Let’s keep the momentum moving forward and cause real change in our communities. “How can ‘Black Lives Matter’ to Austin and the majority of people that live in Austin if they don’t even care about the black people in the city? So until black Austin matters … the City and the people in the city can’t graduate to ‘Black Lives Matter.”
